A new migrant caravan is making its way north through Mexico, and some of those traveling with the group are reportedly watching America’s upcoming midterm elections just as closely as the road ahead.
Hundreds of migrants, primarily from Central America, departed southern Mexico this week, with some expressing optimism that a Democratic victory in November could eventually create a more favorable political environment for entering the United States.
Independent journalist Julio Rosas, who has spent years documenting illegal immigration and conditions along the southern border, reported on the caravan’s departure and spoke with participants about their plans.
