Outgoing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released a new batch of declassified records Friday that are already reigniting one of the most controversial debates to emerge from the war in Ukraine.
The documents, which detail a network of biological research facilities supported by the United States, reveal extensive American involvement in laboratories across Ukraine and dozens of other countries. According to the records, the U.S. helped fund, develop, and support facilities handling dangerous pathogens while also training personnel and sponsoring research programs tied to infectious diseases.
For years, discussions surrounding Ukrainian biolabs were dismissed by many media outlets and government officials as misinformation. Gabbard now argues the newly released intelligence files prove that key facts were concealed from the public.
