Iran is making it clear that it has no intention of allowing Hezbollah to stand alone as diplomatic efforts intensify across the Middle East.
As negotiations continue behind the scenes over a possible end to the latest round of fighting involving Israel and Iranian-backed forces, Tehran has now drawn a firm line in the sand. Iranian leaders are publicly signaling that any agreement aimed at stopping the conflict must include provisions benefiting Lebanon and Hezbollah.
The message coming from Tehran appears straightforward: no comprehensive peace deal will move forward unless Israel’s military operations inside Lebanon are addressed as part of the package.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi delivered that warning on Friday, emphasizing that Lebanon remains central to Tehran’s calculations.
According to reports, Araghchi declared that “this war will end only when it ends in Lebanon as well.”
He went even further, arguing that any settlement must include Israeli withdrawal from contested areas.
“The end of the war on Lebanon must be accompanied by the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territories they have occupied,” Araghchi was quoted as saying by Lebanese broadcaster Al Mayadeen.
