The opening days of Pride Month arrived in 2026 with a noticeable shift in tone from the National Football League, which appeared to take a far more restrained approach on its major social media platforms than in previous years.

On June 1, the league’s official X account—followed by more than 36 million users—and its Instagram page, which reaches tens of millions more, did not publish any Pride Month messaging. Brown to the New England Patriots, and the return of Odell Beckham Jr. to the New York Giants. The league also shared tributes following the passing of former NFL legend Raymond Berry.
