Car Prowler Opens Fire on Cops… Instantly Regrets It

The family of a repeat offender killed during a violent confrontation with police in Richfield, Minnesota, is now attacking law enforcement after newly released body camera footage appeared to validate officers’ account of the deadly encounter from the very beginning.

The controversy erupted after Richfield police released dramatic footage tied to the April 29 shooting death of Desaver Brian Hollis, a suspected car prowler who police say opened fire on officers during an attempted arrest in the early morning hours.

According to authorities, officers were first dispatched to the 7500 block of Morgan Avenue South around 3:30 a.m. after reports came in regarding suspicious activity involving vehicle break-ins. Police identified Hollis as the suspect and later located him roughly one block away near Oliver Avenue South.

What began as a routine attempt to stop a suspect quickly spiraled into chaos.
