Newly released court documents are painting a deeply disturbing picture of what prosecutors describe as a calculated and deliberate attempt to assassinate conservative commentator Charlie Kirk. At the center of the case is 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, whose own handwritten note and alleged text messages are now being cited as critical evidence of intent.
Authorities say the materials, unsealed this week, reveal not only emotional turmoil but also a clear plan that was set in motion well before the shooting at Utah Valley University in September 2025.
According to investigators, Robinson left behind a handwritten message addressed to his roommate and romantic partner, Lance Twiggs, referred to in the note as “Luna.” The letter was reportedly discovered beneath a keyboard in the home they shared, exactly where Robinson allegedly directed Twiggs to look in a message sent shortly after the shooting.
The note opens with a haunting apology:
“Luna, if you are reading this per my text, then I am so sorry,”
From there, the message takes a darker turn, suggesting that Robinson had already committed himself to a violent course of action earlier that day.
