Plans for the skyscraper include a mix of luxury living, high-end hospitality, and entertainment space designed to cater to both residents and international travelers. The building will feature more than 270 upscale residential apartments along with retail shops, a beach club, and an expansive pool area. In addition, the tower will house what developers describe as a “six-star resort hotel,” a concept intended to compete with the most exclusive hospitality brands in the world.
Unlike many luxury developments that partner with well-known hotel chains, this property will prominently display the Trump name instead of another hospitality brand.
“It won’t have a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton brand above the front door, but it will say ‘Trump.’ And that means it is a no-expense-spared, highest-possible-quality building — the best in the world.”
The Trump Organization appears eager to expand its global footprint through the project. Eric Trump, who serves as Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization and is the son of President Donald Trump, shared his enthusiasm about the announcement through social media.
“I am so proud to announce what will soon be the tallest building in Australia — Trump International Hotel & Tower Gold Coast,” he wrote.
He also emphasized the significance of the company’s first step into the Australian market.
“This marks our first venture into Australia — an extraordinary country in every respect — and I couldn’t be more excited to help shape its iconic skyline forever. More to come…”
Promotional material published on the Trump Hotels website paints a picture of an ultra-luxury destination designed to stand out even among the Gold Coast’s already impressive beachfront developments. The description highlights the project’s focus on high-end design and panoramic ocean views.
The website says the building “redefines beachfront sophistication with world-class amenities, iconic design, and uninterrupted Gold Coast views.”
Interestingly, the origins of the deal date back nearly two decades. David Young, the CEO of Altus Property Group, revealed that his company had long pursued a partnership with the Trump Organization. According to reports, Young initially reached out to Ivanka Trump back in 2007 in hopes of securing a development agreement.
At the time, the proposal did not immediately materialize. But after years of persistence and planning, the concept has finally turned into a major international project that could reshape the Surfers Paradise skyline.
Young also emphasized that despite the prominent Trump branding, the project will remain deeply tied to Australian ownership and construction.
“Importantly, the building is Australian-owned and Australian-built. It is an Altus subsidiary, Altus Resorts Pty Ltd, that makes the decisions on the fit-out, within the Trump design requirements,” Young said.
The agreement between the developer and the Trump Organization was reportedly finalized on February 14 during a meeting held at Mar-a-Lago, President Trump’s well-known Florida estate.
With construction expected to bring jobs, tourism, and global attention to Queensland, supporters of the project believe the skyscraper could become one of Australia’s most recognizable architectural landmarks once it is completed.
