Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is once again invoking “history” as her final refuge, insisting that it will someday condemn President Donald Trump—even as he has returned to the White House and millions of Americans have rejected her narrative of January 6.
During a weekend appearance on ABC’s This Week with host Jonathan Karl, Pelosi appeared visibly bitter as she rehashed familiar talking points about the January 6, 2021 protests. The conversation centered on Trump’s political resurgence and the ongoing debate over responsibility for what happened at the U.S. Capitol that day.
Karl opened by referencing current events at the Capitol and asked Pelosi directly what was going through her mind.
“We see what is happening at the Capitol. What is going through your head?” Karl asked.
