An airline passenger’s meltdown at the airport this week quickly went viral after she erupted at airline employees who refused to grant her a special exception just days before Christmas. The dramatic scene unfolded when a woman attempted to board a flight with two cats stuffed into a single carrier—despite airline rules clearly limiting how pets may be transported in the cabin.
The incident, first reported by The Daily Mail, involved an Alaska Airlines customer who became belligerent when staff members informed her that she could not place two cats under the seat in front of her. The woman’s explosive reaction and sense of entitlement earned her a nickname across social media: “Two Cats Karen.”
The passenger was later identified as Alexandra Compton, a Portland native currently residing in Las Vegas. Video footage shows Compton angrily confronting Alaska Airlines employees at the gate while they calmly attempted to explain the airline’s pet policy. Despite repeated efforts by staff to de-escalate the situation, Compton continued to raise her voice and accuse the airline of targeting her unfairly.
“Show me the policy, then, before I booked the flight, that said that I had to have a certain weight of cat to go under the seat,” Compton whined.
