Federal authorities announced Monday that they had successfully foiled a significant terror plot aimed at Los Angeles just in time for New Year’s Eve celebrations. The FBI confirmed that four individuals were arrested in connection with an alleged bombing scheme, Fox News reported.
Investigators say the suspects identified themselves as members of a radical, pro-Palestinian group known as the Turtle Island Liberation Front (TILF). The group reportedly had plans for coordinated attacks across the city, timed specifically for the New Year’s Eve holiday. Law enforcement officials indicated that the suspects were even preparing to test explosives before executing their planned assault.
The plot involved the use of improvised explosive devices, with five locations across Los Angeles allegedly marked as targets. Each of the four arrested suspects now faces federal charges, including conspiracy and possession of a destructive device. Officials emphasized the seriousness of the threat, noting that had the plan been carried out, it could have resulted in devastating loss of life and destruction.
