Trump’s One Word Just Set Ilhan Omar Off

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

“I love this Ilhan Omar, whatever the hell her name is, with a little… turban. I love her. She comes in, does nothing but b*tch. She’s always complaining,” Trump said.¹

The remark drew loud cheers and laughter from the audience. But Trump was just getting started.

Trump escalates criticism

Trump continued by questioning Omar’s background and loyalty, drawing sharp contrasts between the United States and the country she came from.

“She comes from her country where, I mean, it’s considered about the worst country in the world, right?” Trump continued. “They have no military. They have no nothing. They have no parliament. They don’t know what the hell the word parliament means. They have nothing. They have no police. They police themselves. They kill each other all the time.”²

Then Trump delivered what many supporters saw as the knockout blow.

“We ought to get her the hell out. She married her brother in order to get in, right? She married her brother. Can you imagine if Donald Trump married his sister? Beautiful — she’s a beautiful person. If I married my sister to get my citizenship do you think I’d last for about two hours, or would it be something less than that? She married her brother to get in. Therefore she’s here illegally. She should get the hell out. Throw her the hell out,” Trump declared.³

The crowd immediately erupted into chants of “Send her back!”

Omar fires back on social media

Omar wasted no time responding. As usual, she dismissed Trump’s remarks as bizarre rather than addressing their substance.

“Trump’s obsession with me is beyond weird. He needs serious help,” Omar posted on social media.⁴

But Trump’s attack did not happen in a vacuum. It came as Minnesota is engulfed in one of the largest fraud scandals in American history.

Minnesota rocked by massive fraud scheme

Federal prosecutors say more than $1 billion in taxpayer funds were stolen from pandemic relief programs in Minnesota. The money was intended to feed hungry children, provide autism services, and help with housing assistance.

Instead, investigators say it was siphoned off through a sprawling web of fake nonprofits and fabricated claims.

The largest case, known as “Feeding Our Future,” involved 78 defendants accused of inventing meal sites and submitting claims for children who did not exist.⁵ So far, 61 convictions have been secured.

The scheme’s ringleader, Aimee Bock, was convicted by a jury. Many of the other defendants were of Somali descent.

Red flags ignored for years

State officials reportedly knew something was wrong as early as July 2019. According to CBS News, Bock and her organization aggressively pushed back when state workers questioned suspicious reimbursement requests.⁶

Former employees later said they were pressured not to dig deeper.

The fraud did not stop with one program. Investigators uncovered nearly $220 million in alleged autism-related fraud and another $302 million taken from the Housing Stabilization Program.

Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph Thompson warned that the final total could exceed $1 billion once all investigations are complete.⁷

Federal scrutiny widens

Small Business Administrator Kelly Loeffler announced that her agency has launched an investigation into whether organizations tied to the Minnesota fraud also improperly received PPP loans.

“Numerous individuals and nonprofits indicted in the $1 billion Minnesota COVID fraud scandal, including Feeding Our Future, received SBA PPP loans in addition to other state and federal funding,” Loeffler said.⁸

The Treasury Department is also investigating claims that some stolen funds may have been sent overseas, possibly reaching al-Shabaab. No definitive public link has been confirmed.

Walz administration under fire

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is now facing intense criticism for his administration’s handling of the scandal.

Republican State Senator Jordan Rasmusson told Fox News Digital that fear of political backlash played a role.

“Concerns of political correctness halted the Walz administration from doing the investigations they needed to protect Minnesota’s tax dollars,” Rasmusson said.⁹

Reports later showed state officials gave federal authorities little usable evidence, forcing the FBI to build its case from scratch.¹⁰

Former employees described a culture where questioning fraud risked being labeled racist.

Omar deflects responsibility

Omar has defended the Somali community, portraying it as victimized rather than culpable. But when asked about potential links to terrorism, her response raised eyebrows.

“If there was a linkage in the money that they have stolen going to terrorism, then that is a failure of the FBI and our court system in not figuring that out,” Omar told CBS News.¹¹

Trump has made clear he is done with excuses.

He announced the termination of Temporary Protected Status for Somalis and ordered ICE operations in Minneapolis.

“Minnesota is a hub of fraudulent money laundering activity,” Trump said earlier this week.¹²

Democrats spent years accusing Trump of racism for warning about unchecked immigration.

Now, with more than $1 billion gone, Trump’s supporters say the real scandal is not his tone, but the failures that allowed massive fraud to flourish right under Democrats’ watch.
