For decades, America’s higher education system has been running the same con. Universities jack up tuition year after year, knowing full well that students can borrow endless amounts of federal money to cover the costs.
That gravy train may finally be over. President Trump’s Department of Education just announced sweeping reforms that threaten to unravel the very foundation of the student loan racket.
On Monday, Trump’s Education Department kicked off official negotiations to restructure the entire student loan system. And make no mistake—graduate schools, the worst offenders in the price-gouging game, are directly in the crosshairs.
The biggest shockwave comes from Trump’s plan to eliminate the Grad PLUS loan program by July 1, 2026. Under the current setup, graduate students have essentially been given a blank check—borrowing unlimited sums to cover whatever outrageous tuition schools decide to charge.
