President Donald Trump is signaling to his allies that Democrats may have just handed him a golden chance to reshape Washington. With the federal government now partially shuttered, Trump says the Left’s refusal to compromise has given him an “unprecedented opportunity” to begin cutting waste and bloated bureaucracy.
On Thursday, Trump took to Truth Social to share his next move. He revealed that he was preparing for a strategy session with Russ Vought, the former director of the Office of Management and Budget, to identify government programs that can be trimmed—or scrapped altogether. According to Trump, this is exactly the moment he’s been waiting for.
“I can’t believe the Radical Left Democrats gave me this unprecedented opportunity,” Trump wrote. “They are not stupid people, so maybe this is their way of wanting to, quietly and quickly, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
