Assault on Reporter STUNS Public: “Lawlessness!”

The reporter went into detail about how the attack unfolded. “This Antifa-affiliated subject just started approaching me and waving a flagpole in my face, and then I kind of turn around and that’s when she swung it like a baseball bat and directly hit my eye,” she said during another interview with Real America’s Voice host Jack Posobiec.

After the blow, Daviscourt tried to rely on law enforcement to hold the suspect accountable—but says Portland police refused to help.

“I immediately ran to a Portland police officer, hunted down the suspect, chased her through the streets and said, ‘This is my assault suspect, can you guys finally do something?’ and I had eyes on her for about 35 minutes,” she recalled. “Portland police refused to come in and make an arrest and I had three officers just standing there, watching me try to hunt down the suspect.”

The Portland Police Bureau later released a statement that seemed to contradict Daviscourt’s account. They asked the public to assist in identifying the suspect but denied refusing to act.

According to their version, one of their “dialogue liaison officers” followed the alleged attacker. “The Dialogue Officer attempted to talk to the suspect to hear her side of the story. She would not stop, so the DLO told her she was being detained. She refused the lawful police order to stop and she fled,” the statement read.

Police claimed they met with Daviscourt afterward and turned the case over to the Major Crimes Unit for investigation. Still, the fact remains that the journalist says she personally chased the suspect for over half an hour while uniformed officers refused to take action.

The attack comes as Portland remains a hotbed for far-left extremism. The city became infamous in 2020 when Antifa rioters set fires, vandalized federal property, and clashed with law enforcement for months on end. Former President Trump even ordered federal troops to protect Portland’s ICE facilities from what he called “Antifa, and other domestic terrorists.”

That move sparked backlash from Oregon Democrats, who immediately sued to stop federal forces from securing the city. The same political leadership that pushed back against Trump’s plan continues to oversee a city where violence against journalists has become all too common.

For Daviscourt, the ordeal is more evidence that Portland officials are unwilling—or incapable—of controlling the radical activists who terrorize the streets. Instead of protecting victims, police are bogged down in political constraints, leaving law-abiding citizens and journalists to fend for themselves.

As investigations drag on, the bigger question remains: how many more people will have to be hurt before Portland leaders finally take back control of their city?
