They went very well—like this is going very well,” he said. “And then I didn’t do any for two days and they said there must be something wrong with him.”
He then hit the media with the line that summed up everything: “Biden wouldn’t do them for months. You wouldn’t see him, and nobody ever said there was ever anything wrong with him. And we know he wasn’t in the greatest of shape.”
Think about that. Trump steps away for two days—on a holiday weekend, no less—and millions are spinning death rumors online. Biden hid from voters for months during the 2020 campaign and continued dodging press conferences as President, and the media shrugged it off as completely normal.
Trump Sets the Record Straight
Rather than being “missing,” Trump reminded everyone he was busier than most presidents ever are. “Now you knew I did an interview that lasted for about an hour and a half with somebody, and everybody saw that was on one of your competitors,” he said. “I did numerous shows and also did a number of Truths—long Truths, I think pretty poignant Truths.”
He also described visiting members at his club on the Potomac River and staying active throughout the entire weekend.
“I had heard that, but I didn’t hear it to that extent,” Trump admitted about the social media speculation. Then came the knockout line: “Well, it’s fake news. You know, it’s just so fake. That’s why the media has so little credibility.”
The Bigger Picture
Here’s the real story: we have a President so open with the press that if he doesn’t appear for two days, the internet assumes the worst. Contrast that with Biden, who could disappear for weeks on end, and the press called it “responsible.”
That’s the double standard Americans are sick of. Trump takes a normal holiday weekend and suddenly the country is told he’s dead. Biden avoided the public for months, and it was spun as smart leadership.
This isn’t about death rumors—it’s about credibility. A media establishment so obsessed with manufacturing Trump drama has conditioned the public to see even normal breaks as scandals.
The fact that 1.3 million people engaged with rumors of Trump’s “death” says more about the media’s destructive influence than it does about the President’s schedule.
The real scandal isn’t that people thought Trump was gone—it’s that we now expect so much transparency from Trump that even a short pause triggers panic. And compared to the alternative, that’s actually a problem most Americans should welcome.
