“Meanwhile, Ohio, my home state, lost a representative,” he continued. “We’re literally losing representatives for American citizens in order to give congressional representation to illegal aliens.”
Think about that: American families lose political power while California gains seats based on individuals who aren’t even legally supposed to be here.
Welker attempted to put Vance on the defensive by pressing him about Republican-led redistricting efforts in states like Texas. But Vance wasn’t buying it. Instead, he turned the conversation toward the Left’s long history of gerrymandering to entrench their own power.
“Well, first of all, Kristen, you have to ask yourself, why have Democrats gerrymandered their states aggressively over the past 10 to 20 years?” Vance shot back.
He pointed to Massachusetts as the perfect example of the rigged game. Despite nearly one-third of the state voting Republican, Massachusetts doesn’t send a single Republican to Congress. Not one.
“So what we’re doing, frankly, is trying to make the situation a little bit more fair on a national scale,” Vance added.
Here’s the kicker: the very people being counted for congressional seats aren’t even supposed to have a say in elections.
“They’re not eligible to vote, but they do go in the congressional apportionment,” Vance explained. “That’s why California has so many more seats – because they count illegal aliens. So even though they don’t vote – well, some of them actually do vote, but hopefully most of them don’t – they end up getting congressional representation that ought by right to go to Americans.”
In other words, California’s inflated House delegation is built on non-citizens. And every extra seat California gets comes directly out of the hands of states that follow the law.
Vance made it clear: Republicans aren’t trying to tilt the system in their favor — they’re trying to correct decades of imbalance.
“Republicans are trying to balance out the scales a little bit for basic fairness and for the integrity of our democracy, which the president cares about as much as anybody in the country,” Vance declared.
The math is undeniable. When illegal alien populations translate into congressional power, that’s not democracy — that’s disenfranchisement of American citizens. Law-abiding states are punished, while sanctuary states are rewarded for ignoring federal immigration laws.
Every seat California snags through this system is one less seat for states filled with tax-paying, law-abiding Americans.
Vance just pulled the curtain back on one of the Left’s most effective tools for clinging to power. By inflating representation through illegal immigration, Democrats have been quietly redistributing congressional seats — and tilting the balance of power in their favor for years.
But with the truth exposed, Republicans are finally in a position to fight back.
At the end of the day, congressional seats should be based on American citizens — not handed out like prizes to states that shield illegal aliens. As Vance put it, the system is broken, and it’s long past time for it to be fixed.
The American people deserve fair representation — and JD Vance just proved why Democrats are desperate to keep this conversation out of the spotlight.
