Former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi stunned attendees at CPAC’s “Summit Against Human Trafficking” on Wednesday with a sudden and unexplained withdrawal. The official reason? A torn cornea. But questions are now swirling about the real reason behind her last-minute no-show—especially in light of a bombshell Wall Street Journal report linking Bondi to private briefings with former President Donald Trump regarding Jeffrey Epstein’s sealed files.
Acting Assistant Attorney General Matthew Galeotti was left to deliver the message on stage in Bondi’s place. He shared a statement from Bondi with the audience:
“I’m sorry to miss all of my CPAC friends today, especially Matt and Mercy Schlapp, Senator Blackburn, and the wonderful team at the Tim Tebow Foundation. Unfortunately, I am recovering from a recently torn cornea, which is preventing me from being with you. I truly wish I was able to join you and support all of the work being done on this critical issue.”
The excuse, though health-related, came at a highly suspect moment. Just hours earlier, The Wall Street Journal released a damaging piece claiming Bondi had personally informed President Trump back in May that his name appears “multiple times” in files linked to the late sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
