Gunfire Erupts at ICE Raid—Democrat Joins Chaos!

Simultaneous Raids Spark Unrest

Federal authorities conducted coordinated raids at two Glass House Farms locations in Ventura County, targeting sites in Carpinteria and Camarillo. Reports indicate about ten workers were apprehended and taken into ICE custody, though federal officials have not released further details on the individuals detained or their immigration status.

Pro-Illegal Immigration Groups Rally Protesters

As news of the operation spread, left-wing activist organizations rushed to whip up crowds to interfere with law enforcement. The Santa Barbara Independent quoted alerts from the 805 Immigrant Coalition and 805 UndocuFund warning supporters to rush the scenes and obstruct ICE agents. Their message urged citizens to “show up to the scene to protect workers.”

“Dozens of military-style vehicles, reportedly with ICE and the U.S. National Guard, conducted raids at two Central Coast cannabis farms Thursday morning, causing a chaotic scene at both the locations as videos spread on social media while the raids were occurring,” the Independent reported.

Escalation Turns Violent

Chaos exploded in Camarillo when protesters clashed directly with federal officers. Agents were forced to deploy rubber bullets, flash bangs, and smoke canisters to disperse aggressive crowds attacking police lines.

A dramatic video shared by Townhall depicts a woman repeatedly jabbing a long Mexican-flagged pole into the wheel wells, windows, and armored surfaces of federal vehicles, attempting to damage government property.

Democratic Congressman Blocks Law Enforcement

In a stunning move, Congressman Salud Carbajal (D-CA) inserted himself into the fray. Video posted by reporter John Palminteri shows Carbajal trying to physically push his way through a police cordon. Officers grabbed the congressman and redirected him back behind the barricades, preventing him from intervening in the active federal operation.

Rep. Carbajal later unleashed scathing criticism of federal authorities, accusing ICE of excessive force and secrecy:

“Today, I was at Casitas Pass Road in Carpinteria where ICE was conducting a raid using disproportionate displays of force against local farm workers and our agricultural community,” said Congressman Salud Carbajal. “As a member of Congress and representative of the Central Coast, I have the right to conduct oversight and see first-hand what ICE was doing here. As soon as I walked up, I was denied entry and was not allowed to pass. This was completely unacceptable. There’s been a troubling lack of transparency from ICE since the Trump Administration started, and I won’t stop asking questions on behalf of my constituents. I will be demanding answers from the Department of Homeland Security to find out who they detained and where the detainees are being taken. And let me be clear: these militarized ICE raids are not how you keep our communities safe. This kind of chaos only traumatizes families and tears communities apart. They are also a gross misuse of limited resources and a betrayal of the values that define us as Americans.”

Glass House Responds

Glass House Brands, which owns the targeted farms, released a brief statement acknowledging the federal presence. “Glass House Farms were visited today by ICE Officials. The company fully complied with agent search warrants and will provide further updates if necessary.”

A Pattern of Violence

The fact that ICE agents have now faced gunfire three times in one week underscores the volatile environment surrounding immigration enforcement under the Biden administration. Despite repeated incidents of violence and property destruction, progressive groups and some Democrat lawmakers continue to portray ICE as the aggressors.

Meanwhile, conservative critics argue that left-wing activism has crossed the line from peaceful protest into open rebellion against law enforcement. Thursday’s incident serves as the latest evidence that immigration enforcement has become a flashpoint of political division and violent resistance — and even elected officials are increasingly willing to challenge law enforcement on the ground.
