“The truth about January 6 will shock people,” Patel said, adding that the agency under his watch is finally working to get that full picture out to the public.
For years, former FBI Director Christopher Wray dodged a simple question: How many federal agents or informants were embedded among the crowd on January 6?
At the end of 2023, Wray finally admitted the FBI had at least 26 assets in the crowd — but that number may just scratch the surface.
Patel called out the prior FBI leadership’s stonewalling. “I can say that that is definitely a piece of the truth,” he told Baier. “Why it took a ton of time and questioning in Congress for the Director to get that point is what I’m trying to eliminate from the FBI.”
He emphasized that transparency and responsiveness are critical. “If Congress asks you a question under oath…you as the Director of the FBI need to know that,” Patel declared. “Not deflect and give a DC answer.”
When Baier pressed Patel on whether Americans would finally learn the full story behind January 6, Patel didn’t hesitate: “Yeah, because the American people deserve that. And look, no one’s more frustrated than me. Remember, I was Chief of Staff of the Department of Defense on January 6.”
Patel expressed deep frustration over how the media and Democratic politicians twisted the facts, ignoring critical decisions that could have prevented the chaos altogether.
Perhaps the most damning revelation is one the mainstream media continues to bury: President Trump did authorize the National Guard before January 6. It was Democrat leaders who turned him down.
“We said that we were ready, and the President had previously authorized the National Guard to be there days in advance,” Patel confirmed. “I spent two years, a small fortune, grand juries, to testify to the truth. And what happens now, years later, we were right.”
It was none other than then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser who refused the additional security support. That decision — not anything Trump did — left the Capitol vulnerable.
“Bowser and Pelosi rejected that offer,” Patel reminded viewers. “And instead of figuring out how to prevent security lapses like that ever again, the American public spent tens of millions of dollars and countless hours on TV listening to conspiracy theories because those in positions of leadership failed to tell the American public the truth.”
Thanks to Patel’s leadership, it looks like the truth is finally beginning to surface. No more hiding behind red tape or political agendas. No more media smokescreens. The American people deserve accountability — and that’s exactly what Kash Patel is delivering.
