Now that federal funding might be drying up, Hochul isn’t talking about tightening belts for bureaucrats or cutting pet projects—she’s fretting over scaling back freebies for people who aren’t even here legally.
What about the working-class New Yorkers who are living paycheck to paycheck? What about small business owners crushed by taxes? What about seniors who are struggling to afford prescriptions and groceries?
Crickets.
When Telemundo host Alejandro Mendoza asked Hochul if New York might follow California’s lead in slashing immigrant services amid budget shortfalls, she deflected again: “I don’t want to go there.” She repeated, “This is something we have to look at very seriously for how we can not leave these people without essential care.”
There’s no such hesitation when it comes to cutting police funding or raising taxes. But ask about reining in services for illegal immigrants, and suddenly Democrats want to have “serious conversations.”
For years, Americans have watched in disbelief as cities like New York spent billions accommodating illegal migrants while ignoring skyrocketing crime and decaying public services. And now, Hochul wants to cry foul because Republicans are attempting to restore fiscal sanity.
Let’s be clear—New York is in this mess because Democrats like Hochul made the decision to burn through taxpayer money on non-citizens. From lavish hotel stays in Manhattan to round-the-clock medical services, the red carpet was rolled out for thousands who broke federal law to enter the U.S.
These aren’t isolated incidents. They’re part of a larger Democrat strategy that puts non-citizens ahead of American citizens. And now that the money is running out, they’re pointing fingers instead of taking responsibility.
Rather than tightening the belt and putting New Yorkers first, Hochul’s biggest concern is how to keep the benefits flowing to those who shouldn’t be here in the first place.
Across the country, people are waking up. They see their tax dollars going to people who haven’t contributed a dime to the system. They see leaders like Hochul bending over backwards to protect illegal immigrants while ignoring the real needs of American families.
That’s why voters handed the GOP a mandate to fix this mess. The spending bill in question is just one step toward restoring priorities that make sense—like border security, fiscal responsibility, and putting Americans first.
Governor Hochul’s reaction shows just how out of touch the radical left has become. When push comes to shove, they’ll always choose their political agenda over the welfare of American citizens.
And the rest of us are left holding the bill.
