GOP Moves to REMOVE Dems After ICE Insanity!

Three Democratic lawmakers are in hot water after what’s being described as a reckless and lawless incursion into a federal immigration detention facility earlier this month. Republicans are calling for serious consequences—namely, the removal of all three from their powerful House committee assignments.

On Monday, Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA) introduced a formal resolution in the House of Representatives aimed at booting Reps. Robert Menendez Jr. (D-NJ), Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ), and LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) from their current committee posts. This bold move is in direct response to the Democrats’ unannounced and aggressive entry into the Delaney Hall Detention Facility, a privately operated ICE facility in Newark, New Jersey.

According to the resolution, Rep. Watson Coleman would be stripped from the Appropriations Committee, Menendez would lose his seat on the Energy and Commerce Committee, and McIver would be removed from both the Homeland Security and Small Business Committees. The disciplinary measure comes after what officials are calling a dangerous breach of protocol during an ICE transport operation.

Video footage captured at the scene appears to show Rep. McIver forcing her way through federal agents in a red blazer, part of a group of protesters and politicians who gathered outside the facility. Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, who also participated in the protest, was arrested for trespassing during the chaos. ICE reported that during the confrontation, at least one of their officers was physically assaulted.
