After Minaj publicly questioned why the United States is even debating voter ID requirements, the reaction was immediate and massive. Her post exploded to more than 55 million views on X, forcing even hostile media outlets to acknowledge what millions of Americans already believe.

And when CNN dug into the numbers, the results were devastating for Democrats.

According to Pew data analyzed on CNN, a staggering 83% of Americans support requiring photo ID to vote. That figure has climbed steadily over the past several years, rising from 76% in 2018 to its current level.

The support is not limited to Republicans. While GOP voters back voter ID at a near-unanimous 95%, the real shock comes from the other side of the aisle. Seventy-one percent of Democrats also support voter ID, a reality that directly contradicts years of rhetoric from party leadership.

CNN data analyst Harry Enten didn’t attempt to spin the findings. He stated plainly, “Voter ID is not controversial in this country.”

  1. Enten forgot to qualify that the issue is only controversial in the DNC that needs support from undocumented, illegal immigrants casting votes to remain relevant. Otherwise, there is common sense, not controversy, and a glimmer of hope as some Democrats appear to believe that winning fairly is better than just winning.
