“We’re throwing gold bars off the Titanic,” Efron told a Project Veritas journalist, revealing that billions were being funneled to various groups before the Biden administration left office.
Zeldin later confirmed that his team had uncovered these funds.
“Fortunately, my awesome team at the EPA has found the gold bars,” Zeldin announced. “Shockingly, roughly $20 billion of your tax dollars were parked at an outside financial institution by the Biden EPA. This scheme was the first of its kind in EPA history and it was purposely designed to obligate all of the money in a rush job with reduced oversight.”
Zeldin further revealed that just eight organizations received the entire $20 billion sum, distributing funds with minimal transparency. One group, the Climate United Fund, alone received nearly $7 billion. But one of the most concerning allocations was the $2 billion given to Power Forward Communities, an obscure nonprofit linked to Stacey Abrams.
“It’s extremely concerning that an organization that reported just $100 in revenue in 2023 was chosen to receive $2 billion. That’s 20 million times the organization’s reported revenue,” Zeldin told the Free Beacon.
The Free Beacon’s investigation uncovered that Power Forward Communities was awarded the massive grant in April 2024 as part of the EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund program. The nonprofit had only been established months earlier, in late 2023, and had no track record of handling funds anywhere near this scale.
This revelation adds to growing concerns over financial mismanagement within the Biden administration. Instead of responsibly allocating funds to established organizations with proven effectiveness, the EPA seemingly handed billions to select entities with little oversight or accountability.

Zeldin confirmed that his agency, alongside the Department of Government Efficiency, discovered that the Biden administration had parked the $20 billion at an outside financial institution, effectively limiting federal oversight of the program before leaving office.
Now, with billions already distributed, Americans are left wondering: How much more taxpayer money has been funneled into political pet projects under Biden’s EPA? And more importantly, who is really benefiting from these reckless financial maneuvers?
