While President Trump moves aggressively to enforce immigration law and secure the border, Democrats at the state level are scrambling to shut down anyone who helps carry out that mission.

Now, a Washington state lawmaker with a felony criminal record is leading the charge.
State Rep. Tarra Simmons has introduced legislation that would permanently block federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers from ever working as police officers in Washington if they served under President Trump.
The bill does not target criminals.
It targets law enforcement.
Washington Lawmaker Targets ICE Officers For Doing Their Jobs
Simmons unveiled the so called ICE Out Act of 2026, a proposal that would ban state and local law enforcement agencies from hiring anyone who served as a sworn ICE officer after January 20, 2025, the day Trump returned to office.
