“You Left 80-Plus Billion Dollars” – Army Vet Takes On Biden

President Biden was accused by Rep. Cory Mills of prioritizing “political optics” above military strategy while carrying out the United States’ almost two-decade-long departure from Afghanistan. It was implied that this choice may have long-term effects in addition to its short-term political impact.

Cory Mills is a renowned foreign policy expert with unparalleled expertise on the international arena, from Iraq to the front lines of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2014–2015. He is a distinguished veteran of the U.S. Army. Earlier this decade, he had the distinction of advising President Donald Trump on the DoD.

Mills said to Fox News. “Biden’s administration originally said they’d be out by Sept. 11, trying to utilize this date for political optics above military strategy.”

The squad was refused entry to their landing spot, leaving them with little option but to locate an alternative extraction route when Maggie Mills rallied the troops to rescue a family in danger.

In a stressful scenario, Mills demonstrated the team’s ingenuity by convincing an armed guard that the mother and children were his family. The lawmaker cited flaws in departure planning, including the shutdown of Bagram Air Base, which eventually jeopardized safety.

Mills said, “I think we have to recognize the fact that shutting down Bagram Air Base was a strategic failure. We could have run two runways simultaneously, utilizing military and government evacuation at Bagram but also helping to utilize commercial flights in and out that already had tickets booked and planes willing to come in.”

The Taliban seized control of Kabul just three months after the United States started its withdrawal process on August 15, 2021, a symbolic date that serves as a reminder of why we started this war in the first place. President Biden’s historic decision to withdraw all U.S. troops from Afghanistan by September 11, 2021 went into effect in May 2021.

“I think the critical failure was always the idea of putting politics and optics above strategy, that the real intent wasn’t just to try and save all the Americans or allies who we’ve made promises to over the past two plus decades,” Mills said.

“I think we made some critical and fatal flaws, not to mention the fact that one of the grand flaws in my opinion is that you left 80-plus billion dollars in weapons and armor, defense articles, and millions of dollars and pallets of cash,” Mills explained.

“At the end of the day, we have to acknowledge the fact that if you’re an actual leader, especially if you’re the commander in chief, that all the faults that go on ultimately fall on you,” Mills continued. “He has an obligation to the American people and our armed forces to try and ensure that the strategy that we utilize keeps them as safe as possible. Whether it is failures by Secretary Austin to carry out what the Biden administration had put forth or failures by Secretary Blinken to carry out Biden’s intent, it ultimately falls on President Biden as a leader.”

The administration’s departure from Afghanistan has drawn harsh criticism because of the disorganized evacuation and lack of planning for a quick Taliban takeover, which left behind friends who had supported American soldiers throughout the conflict. Their measures have increased worries that terrorist organizations like Al-Qaeda and ISIS may gain ground in this area.
