President Donald Trump ignited a political firestorm after sharing a video on Truth Social that raises explosive questions surrounding the assassination of Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman. The post openly challenges whether Democrat Governor Tim Walz may have had a role in ordering the killing to silence what some claim was an unfolding exposure of massive fraud tied to Minnesota’s government-run social programs.
The video Trump shared advances a theory that Hortman was preparing to reveal what critics describe as a multi-billion-dollar money laundering scheme involving taxpayer-funded childcare and healthcare programs. According to the allegations, these programs were allegedly exploited to funnel money to illegal immigrants, with a particular focus on Somali-linked operations that have long been under scrutiny by watchdogs and independent investigators.
Tragically, Rep. Hortman and her husband, Mark Hortman, were murdered inside their home last summer in a chilling attack that stunned the state. The assailant reportedly posed as a police officer before opening fire. That same night, Democrat State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette Hoffman, were also targeted at their residence in what authorities described as a coordinated series of attacks. Unlike the Hortmans, the Hoffmans survived the ambush, narrowly escaping death.
