In a stunning development that underscores the Trump administration’s firm grip on military discipline, the U.S. Space Force has ousted the commander of a key Arctic base after she appeared to publicly oppose Vice President J.D. Vance and the White House’s bold geopolitical ambitions.
Colonel Susannah Meyers, who led Pituffik Space Base in Greenland, was stripped of her command following an internal email that questioned the Trump-Vance agenda and distanced the base from the vice president’s March 28 visit. The Space Operations Command cited a “loss of confidence in her ability to lead,” as the reason for her removal.
