It didn’t take long for another leftist legal official to land in hot water for putting personal politics ahead of the law.
Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan, a known liberal activist in a robe, was indicted this week by a grand jury for allegedly obstructing federal authorities and aiding an illegal immigrant fugitive in dodging arrest. According to The New York Times, Dugan now faces serious charges, including obstruction and concealing a person from arrest, after allegedly helping a violent, twice-deported Mexican national escape from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
Judge Dugan, now suspended from her position by the Wisconsin Supreme Court, is slated to appear in court Thursday. The allegations paint a damning picture: a judge knowingly shielding a criminal illegal alien from lawful detention, bypassing ICE agents, and potentially endangering the public in the process.
Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, the illegal immigrant at the center of the controversy, had already racked up a violent criminal record and had been deported from the United States on two separate occasions. That alone makes his return a federal crime. Add to that multiple charges of domestic violence, and this wasn’t someone who just “crossed the border to find a better life.”
