Federal law enforcement agents, accompanied by K-9 units, returned Wednesday night to the Tucson, Arizona residence of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie, as the investigation into her disappearance entered a critical phase. The renewed activity followed several days of relative quiet at the property, sparking fresh concern and speculation as authorities resumed searching the area.
According to reports, agents worked alongside deputies from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, who reinstalled caution tape around the home to restrict public access. The renewed perimeter suggested investigators were acting on new information or evidence as the case continues to unfold.
NewsNation correspondent Brian Entin, who has been closely covering the case, documented the scene as law enforcement arrived. “It’s been quiet here for the last couple of days, but now clearly they are about to do something at the house,” Entin said as he filmed agents setting up their operation, according to the New York Post.
Authorities were seen conducting a methodical search of a wooded area near the residence, with K-9 units assisting investigators. The home’s garage was also examined as part of the renewed effort, indicating law enforcement remains focused on evidence connected directly to the property.
