With this new evidence, Chairman Comer has demanded that Mayorkas provide these intelligence reports, documents, and communications no later than October 7. These materials could shine a light on the extent of Walz’s interactions with CCP-affiliated organizations.
In addition to the subpoena, Comer has already reached out to FBI Director Christopher Wray. In a letter sent in August, Comer requested a thorough review of all files, documents, and communications related to Walz’s engagements with CCP-linked officials and organizations. The investigation will also look into whether the FBI has ever issued any advisories or warnings to Walz regarding CCP influence operations targeting American politicians.
“The CCP has sought to destroy the United States through coordinated influence and infiltration campaigns that target every aspect of American life, including our own elected officials,” Comer said in a statement. “Americans should be deeply concerned that Governor Walz, Kamala Harris’s vice-presidential running mate, has a longstanding and cozy relationship with China.”
The allegations against Walz are not just about casual associations. According to Comer, Walz has traveled to China numerous times, worked as a fellow at a Chinese institution closely aligned with the CCP, and even shared the stage with the president of an organization identified by the State Department as a CCP front group. Comer emphasized that these activities closely align with the types of foreign influence operations the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force is actively investigating.
“The American people deserve to fully understand how deep Governor Walz’s relationship with China goes,” Comer concluded, signaling that this investigation may uncover further disturbing details about the governor’s ties to the CCP.

This comically trivial last-ditch attempt to smear Governor Walz is one more embarrassing and strained attempt to curry favor with Donald Trump’s collapsing campaign.”
Despite Raskin’s claims of political maneuvering, the inquiry into Walz’s connection with the CCP will press on.
