What the Capitol Police Chief Told Tucker Carlson

U.S. Capitol Police Chief sent a memo to his staff on Tuesday reiterating their commitment to protecting Members and visitors of Congress against any future threats or violence in light of previously unreleased security footage that highlights law enforcement’s inaction following the storming of Capitol Hill on January 6.

Police Chief Tom Manger openly blasted the comments when video from January 6, 2021 that was “filled with offensive and misleading conclusions” was shown on Carlson’s Monday night program. He was particularly offended by how it described the incident that saw people enter the Capitol grounds illegally when the election of President Joseph Biden was being certified.

“The program conveniently cherry-picked from the calmer moments of our 41,000 hours of video,” Manger claimed. “The commentary fails to provide context about the chaos and violence that happened before or during these less tense moments.”

Manger vehemently objected to Carlson’s depiction of Capitol Police officers and Jacob Chansley, better known as the “QAnon Shaman,” as “tour guides,” saying that it was disrespectful given their position in assisting in the protection of the US Capitol.

He voiced concern at Carlson’s attention to Officer Brian Sicknick, who tragically had a stroke and went away from natural causes the day after gallantly defending our Capitol. The Daily Wire published this worrying news.

During the Capitol uprising on January 6, the death of USCP Officer Brian Sicknick gripped the nation. The New York Times first claimed that he had died as a result of one of the rioters’ acts; however, five weeks later, the DC medical examiner clarified that he had died of natural causes; other media sources had previously reported incorrectly that he had been battered to death.

Officer Sicknick’s demise is still a mystery, despite the fact that it was only determined to be the consequence of natural causes. His role in the uprising riot on January 6th has been suspected by his family and police authorities.

Observational footage shows Sicknick leading people from the Capitol building “he was supposedly murdered outside overturns the single-most powerful and politically useful lie the Democrats have told us about January 6,” Carlson noted.

Manager mentioned Capitol Police. “Maintains, as anyone with common sense would, that had Officer Sicknick not fought valiantly for hours on the day he was violently assaulted, Officer Sicknick would not have died the next day.”

Manger expressed his gratitude and admiration for the Capitol Police force’s heroic efforts in the face of the tumultuous circumstances on January 6 and recognized them for their dedication. “You fought like hell on January 6 and risked your lives to protect the Constitution and everything this country stands for,” he wrote. “You, along with our law enforcement partners, saved every member of Congress and their staff.”

Manger has not yet been allowed to voice his opinions on a contentious subject on Carlson’s well-respected program, but the Fox News anchor is renowned for giving individuals who disagree with him a chance to express their viewpoint.

The First Amendment was a ground-breaking protection put in place by the founders to guarantee that all parts of the government were held responsible for their deeds, and in this instance it was a useful instrument. Tucker Carlson supported his defense of Capitol Police personnel against charges by using video footage from the incident that seemed to contradict claims made afterwards.

Carlson faced a significant pushback from legislators on both sides of the aisle after being given access to an unprecedented 40,000 hours of high-security surveillance footage by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Ky). This included Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

“It was a mistake in my view for Fox News to depict this in a way that is completely at variance with what our chief law enforcement official here at the Capitol thinks,” According to USA Today, McConnell said on Tuesday.

On Monday, Carlson publicly stated his suspicion that persons in positions of authority misled American citizens about what truly transpired on January 6 at the Capitol.
