Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer avoided addressing mounting questions Thursday after new allegations involving Arizona Senator Ruben Gallego added another chapter to an already growing controversy surrounding several prominent House Democrats.
Instead of responding directly to reporters seeking comment about Gallego, Schumer shifted his attention elsewhere, leaving unanswered questions about one of the highest-profile members of the Democratic caucus.
According to a report published by the New York Post, Gallego allegedly engaged in sexual relationships with at least two congressional staffers while he was serving in the House of Representatives. The report states that both women worked for Texas Democratic lawmakers rather than for Gallego’s own office.
