Within 48 hours, her warning turned into reality: American B-2 bombers dropped massive ordnance on Iran’s nuclear sites—precisely the kind of action the neocons have dreamed of for decades.
Trump’s Flip: From America First to ‘MIGA’
Trump supporters rallied behind him because he vowed to end endless wars. But this week, Trump veered sharply off that promise.
Just hours after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated Operation Midnight Hammer was “not and has not been about regime change,” Trump posted this jaw-dropper on Truth Social:
“It’s not politically correct to use the term, ‘Regime Change,’ but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn’t there be a Regime change??? MIGA!!!”
So much for draining the swamp. Trump is now echoing the same regime change rhetoric that made Bush-era neocons infamous.
The Largest Strike Since Iraq
Operation Midnight Hammer was not just a symbolic strike—it was the most aggressive U.S. military action against Iran in modern history.
Seven B-2 Spirit bombers flew over 18 hours from Missouri to Iran, deploying 14 Massive Ordnance Penetrators on Fordow and Natanz. Simultaneously, over 24 Tomahawk missiles hammered Isfahan. More than 125 aircraft were involved in total—including fighters, tankers, and surveillance planes.
To cloak the real mission, the Pentagon even sent decoy bombers to Guam. General Dan Caine confirmed the attack caused “extremely severe damage and destruction.”
It’s the kind of large-scale, preemptive military operation the neocons have been lobbying for since the Bush years—and they finally got it.
Backstabbed by the War Machine
Trump’s supporters are left stunned. This was not the candidate who vowed to bring troops home and rebuild America from within. This was the man who slammed Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and George W. Bush for dragging the nation into pointless wars.
Now, he’s executing the very strategy he once condemned.
“Donald Trump campaigned three times as the president. He was going to end our forever wars in Iraq and Afghanistan,” Bumiller noted, echoing the betrayal many feel.
The Neocon Coup Is Complete
Even MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough couldn’t ignore the eerie déjà vu. He pointed out how many of the voices pushing for war now are the same ones who sold America on Iraq—without remorse and without accountability.
And now, those same figures have successfully morphed Trump into their perfect war-time puppet.
Instead of dismantling the permanent war machine, Trump just became its weapon.
U.S. Bases in the Crosshairs
With Iran’s nuclear program crippled and Trump flirting with full-blown regime change, retaliation is almost guaranteed. Iran has already warned that “all U.S. bases are within our reach and we will boldly target them.”
Meanwhile, around 40,000 American troops remain stationed across the Middle East—sitting ducks in the neocon’s revived war theater.
Bottom Line: This Isn’t What Americans Voted For
Trump’s base didn’t elect him to be the next Bush. They voted to stop the bleeding, bring our troops home, and put America first. Instead, they got the biggest military escalation in over two decades—and a commander-in-chief now parroting neocon slogans.
It’s no longer a question of “if” the warmongers have returned. They’re here, and they’ve seized control of a movement that once promised to destroy them.
Trump promised to Make America Great Again. Instead, under neocon guidance, he may be dragging us into another endless war—one bunker buster at a time.
