According to people with knowledge of the situation, Fox News decided to fire Tucker Carlson just before a trial in a lawsuit against the network was about to begin. Following the 2020 election, the complaint claimed that Carlson and other network personalities harmed Dominion’s voting systems. Later, Fox News consented to a $787 million settlement payment.
