
In a dramatic and defiant return to Butler, Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump kicked off his rally with a bold proclamation: “As I was saying…” His speech, delivered in front of thousands of supporters, began with a reference to the illegal immigration chart that he claims saved his life during an attempted assassination earlier this year.
On July 13, a would-be assassin, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, opened fire during Trump’s previous rally at the same venue. According to reports, Crooks fired multiple shots from a nearby rooftop, aiming at the crowd and Trump himself. One bullet grazed the former president’s ear, narrowly missing a fatal headshot.

Trump recounted how fate, or perhaps divine intervention, spared his life that day. “Had I not turned my head left, toward the big screen showing the chart of illegal immigration, I wouldn’t be here today,” he told the crowd. “It was an act of God. I was very lucky.”
