According to The New York Times, an island resident signs a petition protesting the president’s “no comment” response to the calamity.
While offering fruit to individuals impacted by the fires, the volunteer, Eddy Garcia, displayed contempt for the occasion.
“The Biden visit was a public relations tactic,” he said.
In reference to the government’s reaction to the flames, he added, “They failed us on every level.” “Their red tape, their bureaucracy.”
According to The Times, Biden’s 20-minute helicopter ride over Maui left a terrible mess.

The anchor of Fox Business, Stuart Varney, claimed that Biden appeared “out of touch” due of the White House response to the tragedy in Maui.
“That ‘no comment’ was tone-deaf. The images of the president relaxing on the beach while Maui burned did not help his ‘father of the nation’ image,” he said.
“I think this president is physically exhausted. He’s 80 and frail and needs rest.
“He’s mentally exhausted by the Hunter investigation and the apparent pressures of the job. August has been a painful reminder of the growing problem of Biden’s age,” Varney stated.
