In a heated exchange that has captured widespread attention, U.S. Senator JD Vance responded forcefully to CNN anchor Brianna Keilar, who appeared to belittle his military service during a segment defending Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. The controversy erupted after numerous videos emerged showing Walz making questionable claims about his military experience, which have been widely criticized as “stolen valor.”
At least five different videos have surfaced in recent days, all highlighting instances where Walz seemingly exaggerated or fabricated details about his military service. The most prominent of these videos was released shortly after Walz was introduced as Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate. In the footage, Walz falsely claims, “We can make sure those weapons of war, that I carried in war, are only carried in war.” This statement has sparked outrage as it became clear that Walz never actually deployed to a combat zone.

In reality, Tim Walz, despite his military background, never saw combat. In fact, he opted to abandon his battalion when they were deployed to Iraq, choosing instead to pursue a career in Congress.
