The Case Against Birthright Citizenship Loopholes
Brennan’s attempt to drill down into Vance’s argument only highlighted her focus on the specifics while ignoring the overarching issue. Vance seized the moment to clarify the administration’s position, pointing out that birthright citizenship for temporary visitors or illegal immigrants is an outdated policy.
“If you come here on vacation and you have a baby in an American hospital, that baby doesn’t become an American citizen,” Vance stated. “If you’re an illegal alien and you come here temporarily, hopefully your child does not become an elite American citizen by virtue of just having been born on American soil.”
He further emphasized, “Temporary residents—people who come in here whether legally or illegally and don’t plan to stay—their children should [not] become American citizens. I don’t know any country that does that.”
“Nation of Immigrants” Narrative Rejected
When Brennan invoked the clichéd “nation of immigrants” argument, Vance swiftly countered with a blunt rebuttal. “This is a very unique country, and it was founded by some immigrants, but just because we were founded by immigrants doesn’t mean that 240 years later we have to have the dumbest immigration policy in the world,” he shot back.
Vance reiterated that immigration policies should prioritize American citizens. “If you’re not here permanently, if you’re not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States and don’t plan to be, why would we make those people’s children American citizens permanently?” he asked.
Brennan Defends Biden’s Border Failures
Brennan then pivoted to defending the Biden Administration’s handling of immigration, which saw over 10 million illegal immigrants enter the country. She claimed that refugees from countries like Afghanistan and China were adequately vetted, despite growing evidence to the contrary.
Vance dismantled this assertion, pointing to cases where supposedly vetted individuals had plotted terrorist attacks. “We know that there are cases of people who allegedly were properly vetted and then were literally planning terrorist attacks on our country. That happened during the campaign, if you may remember,” he reminded Brennan.
When Brennan attempted to dismiss the Oklahoma City Election Day terror plot as an isolated incident, Vance’s response was sharp. “I don’t want that person in my country, and I think most Americans agree with me,” he declared. “I don’t want my children to share a neighborhood with people who are not properly vetted.”

Vance’s Vision: America First
Throughout the interview, Vance remained steadfast in his commitment to protecting American interests. His argument underscored the need for common-sense immigration policies that ensure national security and prioritize the well-being of American citizens.
By the end of the interview, it was clear that Vance had not only held his ground but effectively exposed the flaws in the narratives used to defend the Biden Administration’s lax immigration policies. His firm stance and ability to articulate the administration’s vision left a lasting impression, proving once again why he remains a formidable force in the political arena.
