The military embargo was implemented after Hamas militants received a stern warning from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday. He also promised to employ “all the strength” of the IDF to “destroy Hamas’s capabilities” in the wake of the terrorist acts.
“We will destroy them and will forcefully avenge this dark day that they have forced on Israel and its citizens… All of the places which Hamas is deployed, hiding and operating in, that wicked city [Gaza], we will turn them into rubble,” Netanyahu said.
The Prime Minister addressed the people of Gaza directly, “Leave now because we will operate forcefully everywhere.” He revealed that the IDF is already “clearing the terrorists out of the last communities,” going “community by community, house by house,” to restore Israeli control.
“What Hamas will experience will be difficult and terrible … we are going to change the Middle East,” Netanyahu informed southern Israeli officials on Sunday. “This is only the beginning … we are all with you and we will defeat them with force, enormous force.”

Shuja’iyya, a “terror nest” for the terrorist group Hamas, was also destroyed.
Over 1,200 key targets were attacked by the Israel Defense Forces’ aircraft assault on the Gaza Strip from Saturday to Monday. This destructive bombardment hit rocket launchers, command posts, storage areas for weapons, and more.
The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Transportation buildings in Gaza City are demolished by Israeli forces.
