Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey went on a profanity-laden tirade against federal agents during a Wednesday night appearance on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360, lashing out at the Department of Homeland Security over the deadly shooting of Renee Nicole Good. The incident occurred after Good allegedly tried to ram her car into an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer during an anti-ICE protest in a residential Minneapolis neighborhood.
According to DHS officials, Good attempted to “weaponize” her vehicle by targeting agents, prompting one officer to fire three “defensive shots” to protect his life and the safety of those nearby. The tragic event has sparked a nationwide debate over the limits of law enforcement use of force during chaotic confrontations.
U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem did not mince words in defending the agent’s response. She characterized Good’s actions as an act of “domestic terrorism,” calling the officer’s intervention justified under the circumstances.
