In a recent interview, Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens emphasized the severity of the ongoing immigration crisis, highlighting the challenges faced by law enforcement officials on the ground. Owens minced no words as he described the situation at the border, calling it a “national security crisis” that demands urgent attention.
“The situation at our border is dire,” Chief Owens stated bluntly. “We are dealing with an unprecedented influx of migrants, overwhelming our resources and stretching our manpower to the limit.”

Owens highlighted the staggering numbers, noting a significant increase in illegal crossings compared to previous years. “In February alone, we apprehended over 200,000 individuals attempting to enter the country illegally,” he revealed. “This is not sustainable, and it puts both our border agents and the migrants themselves at risk.”
The Border Patrol Chief underscored the humanitarian aspect of the crisis, expressing concern for the well-being of migrants, particularly unaccompanied minors. “We are seeing a disturbing trend of children being exploited by human traffickers and subjected to dangerous conditions during their journey,” Owens lamented. “It’s heartbreaking, and it underscores the urgency of addressing this crisis comprehensively.”
Regarding the Biden administration’s approach to immigration, Chief Owens voiced frustration with what he sees as inadequate policies to deter illegal migration. “The current administration’s rhetoric and policies have only served to incentivize more people to attempt the journey,” he asserted. “We need robust measures to secure our border and uphold the rule of law.”
