A routine Sunday grocery trip ended in tragedy for a Virginia couple after a 77-year-old man was allegedly attacked inside a Walmart following a confrontation involving a teenage employee.
Bert Atienza died on June 8, one day after the violent encounter at a Walmart on North Military Highway in Norfolk, Virginia. The Virginia medical examiner determined that Atienza died from blunt-force trauma to the head and classified his death as a homicide.
Now, months after the attack, surveillance footage and an emotional account from Atienza’s widow are providing a disturbing look at what allegedly unfolded inside the store.
