Vice President JD Vance is turning up the heat on federal judges he says are overstepping their authority, warning that their rulings are improperly obstructing President Donald Trump’s ability to lead the Executive Branch.
In recent years, courts have repeatedly blocked key Trump initiatives, from ending birthright citizenship to freezing federal grants and overhauling agencies like USAID and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Many of these judicial roadblocks have stalled or outright stopped Trump’s policy agenda in its tracks.

Vance isn’t staying silent. He has openly criticized these judges for what he sees as a blatant power grab.
“If a judge tried to tell a general how to conduct a military operation, that would be illegal. If a judge tried to command the attorney general in how to use her discretion as a prosecutor, that’s also illegal. Judges aren’t allowed to control the executive’s legitimate power,” Vance stated, as reported by ABC.
