Viganò’s Statement Leaves Vatican STUNNED

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

Viganò also made waves for rejecting COVID-19 mandates that he viewed as oppressive and anti-Christian. He didn’t mince words about what he called “stolen elections” and saw Francis as a willing participant in the collapse of individual freedom and moral truth.

In July 2024, Pope Francis excommunicated Viganò from the Catholic Church, accusing him of schism. But Viganò stood firm, claiming his actions were not divisive—but defensive.

He argued that he was defending the Church against a Pope who had veered dangerously off course.

Now, just days after Francis’ passing, Viganò has published a scathing critique of the late Pope’s legacy—one that is sure to send shockwaves through the Catholic world.

In a written statement, Viganò accused Francis of promoting heresy and betraying the foundational beliefs of the Church. He cited a 2018 report by Italian journalist Eugenio Scalfari, who claimed that Francis (whose birth name is Jorge Mario Bergoglio) denied the existence of Hell in private conversation.

According to Scalfari, Francis said:
“Sinful souls are not punished: those who repent obtain God’s forgiveness and join the ranks of souls who contemplate him, but those who do not repent and cannot therefore be forgiven disappear. There is no hell, sinful souls simply disappear.”

For Viganò, this was more than a theological misstep—it was blasphemy. In response, he fired back:

“These heretical ravings are directly opposed to the Catholic Faith, which teaches us that there is a particular Judgment for everyone, which Bergoglio could not escape. His soul has therefore not disappeared, nor has it dissolved: he will have to account for the crimes he has committed, first of all having usurped the throne of Peter in order to destroy the Catholic Church and loose so many souls.”

While the man he believes wrecked the Church is now gone, Viganò warns that the damage is far from over. He points to the cardinals and bishops Francis elevated—many of whom, according to Viganò, were chosen precisely because of their alignment with the Pope’s radical agenda.

He writes:

“But if this non-pope and anti-pope can no longer harm the Mystical Body, his heirs still remain, the subversives whom he has invalidly created ‘cardinals’ and who have long been organizing themselves to ensure a continuator of the synodal revolution and the destructuring of the Papacy.”

In Viganò’s view, the next conclave—where the new pope will be selected—could make or break the future of the Catholic Church. And he places some of the blame on supposedly “conservative” cardinals and bishops who remained silent during Francis’ reign.

“In support of them are also the conservative Cardinals and Bishops who have been careful not to question the legitimacy of Jorge Bergoglio. It is on these people that the greatest responsibility for the outcome of the next ‘conclave’ falls.”

As the Vatican prepares for its next chapter, Viganò’s powerful words serve as both a warning and a call to arms. The fight for the soul of the Catholic Church, in his view, is not over—it’s only just beginning.
