“Any worker who relies on tips [as] income, your tips will be 100% yours,” Trump vowed, emphasizing the impact of his proposal on over four million workers nationwide. “Here in Nevada…a quarter of the typical restaurant workers’ pay comes from tips. I didn’t know that,” he admitted during his speech, highlighting how deeply the issue affects the state’s workforce.

Trump also turned to Nevada Republican Governor Joe Lombardo during the rally, asking if the issue had been a key factor in the state’s November election. “You think that had an impact on the election? What, a half a point? It’s pretty big,” he remarked.

The former president didn’t shy away from taking aim at President Joe Biden, blaming his administration for inflation and economic struggles that have hurt service workers. “Some of the very citizens who were hit hard, and very hard, by the ravages of the Biden economy, which was inflation,” Trump said. “When I think of Biden, I think of incompetence and inflation.”

Trump’s stop in Nevada was part of a broader effort to thank voters for their support in the 2024 election cycle. “I’m going to Nevada, and I’m really going to thank Nevada for the vote because we won Nevada,” Trump said earlier in the week, acknowledging the significance of flipping a state that has historically leaned Democrat.

On the casino floor, reporters tried to press Trump for comments, but one craps player wasn’t having it. “I’m rolling here,” the gambler scolded the press pool, drawing laughter from onlookers. Trump, unfazed, complimented the player and continued to engage with supporters and staff, pausing to thank workers holding water trays.

During his rally, Trump also celebrated some of his administration’s achievements, including withdrawing from the World Health Organization (WHO) and eliminating federal diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. “We got rid of the woke crap,” Trump declared to loud applause. “A lot of crap…you know, these people were petrified of it. I’ll tell you, these companies, they run these big companies, they were petrified of it.”

Trump further criticized Biden’s IRS expansion plans, revealing his intent to reverse them. “They hired, or tried to hire, 88,000 new workers to go after you,” he told the audience. “And we’re in the process of developing a plan to either terminate all of them or maybe we’ll move them to the border.”

Trump’s visit to Las Vegas served as both a celebration and a campaign push, with his promise to eliminate taxes on tips taking center stage. For Nevada’s service industry workers, the pledge is a direct appeal to one of the state’s most vital industries. With his fiery rhetoric and policy-driven proposals, Trump reminded supporters why his influence continues to dominate the political stage.
