Vice President JD Vance has revealed that he and President Donald Trump have spent months examining an extraordinary Senate maneuver designed to break the legislative deadlock over the SAVE America Act. But despite exploring the possibility of taking control of the Senate floor, Vance acknowledged that a lack of Republican support could doom the strategy before it even begins.
In a revealing interview with Daily Caller Editorial Director Vince Coglianese, released Tuesday, Vance explained how the administration considered removing the Senate parliamentarian and potentially eliminating the legislative filibuster to advance the voter registration legislation.
The vice president also identified four Republican senators whom he believes would join Democrats to block the effort, exposing the internal divisions that continue to complicate Trump’s push for stricter federal election requirements.
