President Donald Trump has officially launched what he calls “Project Freedom,” a bold initiative aimed at breaking the chokehold over one of the world’s most critical النفط shipping routes—the Strait of Hormuz. On Monday, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that American naval forces are actively engaged in the region. According to an official statement shared on X, U.S. warships have successfully entered the Arabian Gulf, marking the first visible phase of the operation.
“U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyers are currently operating in the Arabian Gulf after transiting the Strait of Hormuz in support of Project Freedom,” U.S. Central Command posted on X.
That deployment is more than symbolic. It represents a direct response to mounting concerns about maritime safety and economic disruption caused by instability in the region. American forces, CENTCOM emphasized, are not standing idle.
