The military confrontation between the United States and Iran intensified again on Monday after U.S. forces carried out a new wave of precision strikes against Iranian military infrastructure tied to operations in the Strait of Hormuz, according to U.S. Central Command.
The operation, which lasted roughly five hours, targeted multiple strategic locations across Iran that U.S. officials say have been used to threaten international commercial shipping. The latest action comes as Washington continues ramping up pressure on Tehran following a series of alleged attacks on merchant vessels navigating one of the world’s most important maritime trade routes.
U.S. Central Command announced that American forces conducted coordinated strikes on military targets in Bushehr, Chah Bahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa, and Bandar Abbas. According to CENTCOM, the mission was specifically designed to weaken Iran’s ability to interfere with commercial shipping moving through the Strait of Hormuz.
