In a Chicago suburb, two illegally admitted Venezuelans were found and detained. Due to the sanctuary regulations put in place in the Windy City, they are now facing charges of theft and burglary.
Following their arrests, both people were finally allowed to leave prison.
On October 23, Oak Brook, Illinois police quickly intervened in a reported incident in progress and detained Venezuelan nationals Abel Barrios-Estava and Rafael Mata-Torres.
According to Chicago’s WFLD-TV, officers responded to a call at the Oak Brook Macy’s shop about 5:27 p.m.
Barrios-Estava was captured on camera robbing a retailer of six pieces of apparel worth more than $300. The crime rate in Chicago and its suburbs is on the rise, and this occurrence is just one example.
The individual was being pursued by a loss prevention officer from the store, but he was able to escape and run across 22nd Street.
Officers actively tracked and held Barrios-Estava before authorities were able to capture him once more.
On the same day as Barrios-Estava, the Oak Brook police came across a number of immigrants who were charged with shoplifting.
A second person entered Macey’s, eventually identified as Mateo-Torres. He is charged with trying to leave the store unpaid after removing 13 pieces of apparel.

Loss prevention agents peacefully and successfully captured Mateo-Torres.
Both parties’ subsequent court appearance is set for November 20.
They are currently no longer in custody, but they are restricted from the store and given electronic monitoring devices.
Robert Berlin, the state’s attorney for DuPage County, claimed in a news release on October 24 that retail theft costs American companies billions in lost revenue every year.
“The National Retail Federation estimates that retail theft cost businesses nationwide more than $112 billion last year, up from $96 billion in 2021,” Berlin said. “These losses cause significant financial hardship to businesses and their employees, higher prices for shoppers and loss of tax revenue for the entire community.”
Mark King, the deputy chief of police in Oak Brook, added, “The Oak Brook Police Department continues to proactively combat all forms of organized retail theft, and aggressively pursue offenders. Through our continued collaboration with retail loss prevention agents and the DuPage State’s Attorney’s office, we can effectively investigate, arrest, and prosecute these criminals.”
Unauthorized immigrants are flooding into Chicago, with a sizable portion arriving recently from Venezuela. This increase can be traced to the current administration’s disastrous border policies, overseen by Joe Biden, which have put America in a precarious situation.
An alderman in Chicago has put out a divisive solution to the city’s rising crime rates: deporting criminals as a deterrent. The urgency of the matter is shown by this pleading statement from WBBM-TV.
“I think we need to send the message loud and clear that there are certain things that are unacceptable in our society,” Alderman Ray Lopez said in August.
The people of Chicago have had enough. They are now demanding an end to the city’s sanctuary city rules as a resounding majority of 46%. According to ABC’s WLS-TV, only 39% of respondents think these regulations should continue, while another 14% said they weren’t sure. There is no doubt that Chicagoans strongly support change.
The Windy City is rapidly disappearing under a wave of crime, drug use, prostitution, and wasted tax funds as hundreds more illegal immigrants come every week.

In all I don’t care on people shop lifting from stores. Lowes is still giving me the run around on a warranty product and I just got it 3 days ago they wont allow me to return in the 90day return policy. I do hope someone loots that Lowes. 1 manager sniffs paint fumes, the other is so high and smells of Marijuana she can’t figure out how to work the phone. This is the type of people wadsworth Lowes hires. Can’t really blame the people when the employees are morons and the owner just shrugs because the store is failing. Ask the plumbing department what they recommend, he’s never held a plumbers wrench to be taking his advice. Electrical same way where is 12/2 wire. They got no clue and walked right past it stupid saying they don’t carry 12/2. Then asking me what it is.
