Unbelievable: Haley Flips Script on Tucker's Question!

Due to her substantial governor and international policy experience, Nikki Haley’s campaign attracted a lot of attention at Friday’s important GOP presidential event in Iowa. The only other candidate with comparable qualifications was the former vice president Mike Pence. It was interesting to observe the absence of former President Donald Trump, who selected Haley to be the US ambassador to the UN. The only other candidate who has dealt with foreign governments directly is he.

The moderator of a recent event, Tucker Carlson, questioned her about the Nord Stream pipeline explosion. Given her expertise in foreign policy, one would anticipate a definite answer from her.

Carlson’s response to her inquiry after she had shown uncertainty could not be favorable for her campaign there.

For those who are not up to date, here is some context: While Glenn Beck from TheBlaze noted that Haley is one of the more aggressive candidates, Carlson expressed concern about NATO’s role in the Russia-Ukraine war. She publicly favors Ukraine’s accession to NATO, according to Steve Deace of TheBlaze.

When Haley emphasized the value of American energy independence and contrasted it with President Joe Biden’s administration, which she alleges is reliant on Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Venezuela for oil, different points of view became apparent.

“I saw at the United Nations there were two things our enemies never wanted us to have: They never wanted us to be energy-independent and they never wanted us to have a strong military.”

“Well, speaking of energy and the military,” Carlson transitioned, “Who blew up the Nord Stream pipeline?”

The Nord Stream pipelines, which provide Russian natural gas to Western Europe, were purposefully destroyed by a series of underwater explosions in September 2022.

Right- and left-wing media outlets readily pointed fingers at Russia at first, stoking mistrust. But Carlson was one of the few people who challenge this story when he was still with Fox News. He was right to be skeptical, as it turned out. The attack on the Nord Stream pipelines last year may have been carried out by a pro-Ukrainian gang, according to new intelligence discovered by American officials, The New York Times reported in March. This information puts us one step closer to solving the mystery of who committed this perplexing act of sabotage, which has baffled detectives on both sides of the Atlantic for months.

At least Haley tried to be perplexed: “Well, I don’t know,” she shrugged. “Do you?”

“I’m not claiming you did,” Carlson said, laughing. “I don’t know, I don’t know.”

“That’s what I’m saying, do you know who did it?” Haley asked.

Then Tucker noted his own question as an answer “seems pretty obvious it was backed by the Biden administration, I would say. I think all the evidence suggests that, but I wasn’t there. But, I mean, that seems like a huge step — this is the largest industrial sabotage in history, sent more carbon in the atmosphere than any act ever, and there’s like, weirdly no curiosity about who did it, and I think that’s strange.”

Haley expertly responded to Carlson’s comment by pointing out the contradictions inside the Biden administration. This is only one of many examples.

Carlson then responded that “I guess what I’m really saying is, if you were running against the Biden administration, to do something like that and shaft our closest allies in the world, which would be Western Europe, and deprive them of the energy they need to run their manufacturing sector and destroy their economy, which it is in the process of doing, that’s a major sin to have done something like that. You just betrayed our allies, and no one on the right is accusing the [Biden administration] of what they clearly did.”

Depending on your point of view, Haley once more used the jiu-jitsu or deflection strategy. She emphasized the administration’s lack of accountability and used the recent finding of cocaine at the White House as an example.

Haley declared, “This is incredibly essential. I’ve been in that part of the White House, so. The truth is that many more people passed through this location than they are claiming, and don’t forget the marijuana they just mentioned was discovered there last year. No! I’ve been there before. It is the safest place in the world since this is where you discussed the most sensitive issues with the president when I served on the National Security Council with other council members.

“I know the area where the locker is — people don’t just go in and out of there,” she continued. “It is either the president, the vice president, cabinet members or deputy directors. Nobody else is going in there.”

Carlson decided not to press her further on the evasiveness of her answer. She is simply exposing the Biden administration’s general lack of credibility when she claims that they cannot be trusted because of their willful ignorance about the incident at 1600 Pennsylvania.

There are only four potential perpetrators when looking at the pipeline sabotage: 1) Ukraine acting alone, 2) Ukraine with U.S. help, 3) the United States itself, or 4) a fictional figure like James Bond looking to profit personally from the rise in natural gas prices. Although the fourth possibility is doubtful, Haley is suggesting that Russia cannot be held responsible for the explosion. Additionally, the Biden administration is choosing not to acknowledge this while being aware of it. They may even have been involved in the incident.

There are two viewpoints to take into account here. The first one draws attention to the deftness of Haley’s evasive remark, evoking Ronald Reagan’s famous “bear in the woods” advertisement about Soviet dominance and the necessity of American readiness.

She refers to the group that the Biden administration ardently supports, possibly with their active engagement, without specifically identifying any names. Their dismissive attitude is also affected if their credibility on one area is questioned. In contrast, she deftly eludes being painted as an advocate of far-right conspiracy theorists on Ukraine by spectacular headlines. She has achieved a tactical success here.

However, Tucker Carlson’s assertion is true. It can be viewed as lacking guts if you decide to run against Joe Biden in an election but refrain from outright criticizing his behavior, choosing instead to draw similarities using the cocaine episode as an indirect hint.

As Haley asked her question and Carlson replied, they both displayed their mastery of strategy. The effectiveness of Haley’s evasive response, however, casts doubt on her professed knowledge of foreign policy. Republican expectations for a GOP nominee are high, therefore a token show of bravery will not do.
